Employment Services

Because Working is About More than a Paycheck

If you have schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, or another psychiatric illness, working can increase your self-esteem, help you meet and interact with other people, and provide structure to your day.

Employment Services promote work as part of the recovery process.  Staff will help you reach your employment goals whether you are just starting to think about work, are currently looking for work, or have a job and need ongoing support.

Employment Services are:

  • Person-centered. Customized service that looks at your unique preferences, strengths, and challenges related to employment.
  • Focused. Staff helps you meet your individual employment goals.
  • Flexible.  Staff works with you at your home if you’d like or in other community settings.

Employment Services will help you:

  • Determine your interests,  preferences and concerns related to work.
  • Search for the job of your choice and prepare for interviews.
  • Figure out how working might impact any benefits (SSI, SSDI, etc.) you receive.
  • Decide whether to disclose your illness to your employer and work out any needed accommodations.
  • Keep your job by providing customized, on-going support.
