From Where I Stand: Notes from Our President

The cover of our 2011 Annual Report celebrates our Ladder of Hope Giving Wall installed in April of 2011.
A Year…in Just a Glance
It’s a process – one we go through every year to prepare our annual report to the public. We think about activities engaged in, insights gained, challenges encountered, accomplishments achieved, and goals reached.
But, we think an awful lot about the people involved, too. And, the relationships forged. I’m pleased that you get to meet eight of these people in our 2011 Annual Report.
The power of the human relationship may indeed be one of the most important “tools” that we have.
Being honored by NAMI-MN as Provider of the Year in 2011 is an exceptional acknowledgement of our relationships and the work that we do. Receiving the award means individuals served and their families, our most important “stakeholders,” are experiencing the values on which our work is based.
Deciding how to best present our values along with the people involved and the resulting data is a big job. Thanks to Communications Specialist, Kristi Hamilton, our report features expert design services from Be That Design. Ever resourceful, Kristi entered us in a contest for three days of free design and we won!
Annual reports are truly just a glance at a year. It’s impossible to capture all of the work and caring of the many people who contribute to our mission. But, that doesn’t mean those efforts go unnoticed. Achievements highlighted in the report would not be possible without shared energy and gifts from people like you. Thank you!
Take a look at the report and let me know what you think at gtangjerdschmitt@guildincorporated.org. I’d love to hear from you.
